Sometimes I feel my whole life has been one big rejection.
~ Marilyn Monroe
He was despised and rejected by others, and a man of sorrows,
intimately familiar with suffering;
and like one from whom people hide their faces;
and we despised him and did not value Him. Isaiah 53v3
Who understands your feelings of abandonment and rejection
better than Jesus?
Who has been rejected more times than He has?
Who has been wounded more deeply,
and despised more cruelly than He?
When you feel alone and rejected, go to Jesus,
for who can better understand your pain and hurt than
the One who has experienced such great rejection as He has?
Allow Him to cradle you in His arms
and whisper soothing words of love to you.
Allow Him to minister His healing oil
to the wounded places of your life.
Allow Him to exchange the ashes of your pain and sadness,
for the beauty of His joy,
and the soothing balm of His Holy Spirit.
Go to Him and you will find His name is still the King of Love.
The Lord your God in the midst of you is mighty;
He will save, He will rejoice over you with joy;
He will quiet you with His love,
He will rejoice over you with singing. Zephaniah 3 v 17
The feeling of being rejected is such a painful feeling
as it communicates to us that we are not wanted or not good enough.
I remember as a teenager, going to a dance. All the girls around me
had been asked to dance and I sat on a bench by myself,
because no-one had asked me. I still remember that awful feeling.
I felt so ashamed. This feeling can still creep up on me.
I do find the words from Psalm 139 v 13-14 very helpful,
These words remind me that I am God’s creation and He designed me.
Only Jesus, can consistently give me this deep love,
and total acceptance for which we crave.
