“Nothing teaches us about the preciousness of the Creator
as much as when we learn the emptiness of everything else.
― Charles Haddon Spurgeon
Those who use the things of the world should not become attached
to them. For this world as we know it will soon pass away.
1 Corinthians 7 v 31
What do we have if we don’t have Jesus?
What value is our treasure if we don’t hold the Pearl of Great Price?
How firm is our foundation if we don’t stand on the Rock of Ages?
Wherein is our faith if it is not in the Living Word?
How reliable is the source of our love
if it is not in the Lamb of God, the King of Love?
Jesus is the source of all we seek. We seek Him.
I remember standing at the graveside of my sister, and seeing
the stark reality of the fact that at the end of this journey here,
only the spiritual realities continue on with us.
I know our gift of life is precious and we are encouraged to enjoy
the blessings we have, so it’s all a matter of priorities.
Jesus Himself said, “ But seek first the kingdom of God
and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.”
Matthew 6 v 33
