Often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word,
a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring,
all of which have the potential to turn a life around. ~ Leo Buscaglia
Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.
Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.
1 John 4 v 7s
Daily God’s love is directed towards us.
Hourly He is pouring His blessings into our lives.
Minute by minute His loving kindness is resting on us,
as dew on the morning grass.
May the certainty of His amazing love , free us to
love His other needy lambs with whom we come in contact.
Lord make us a blessing to each person we meet today ,
and so reflect the beauty of Jesus who bears the very name of love.
Last week I went to the local Farmers’ Market, and with this post in mind,
I asked the Holy Spirit to inspire my interactions with the stall holders
there. It was a very uplifting experience. I met a lady with a passion for
lavender – she had been living on the other side of the country, and
‘put it out to the universe that she would like a lavender farm’.
Lo and behold, here she was in our local neighbourhood living her dream.
I talked to the man who had to get up at 1a.m. to pick and prepare his
produce so we could be blessed. Because I had shown such thankfulness,
he said, “It’s people like you that make it worth while.”
I personally experienced the power of positive words recently when I was
going through a time when I was feeling very depressed, and wondering
if my life really mattered and made a difference. Into this sadness,
these sparkling words came to me in a Christmas letter from a long time
teaching friend : “Anne, (a former pupil who is now a grown woman) was
asking about you and wondering what you were up to these days. Apparently
you were the best teacher she ever had in her entire school life”
These few words catapulted me out of my depression and set me back
Be encouraged that the little acts of love you show,
can make a big difference!!!
